On Koi Auction Europe we use cookies and similar techniques, such as local storage in your browser, to make the platform work properly, securely and in a user-friendly way.

We currently do not use advertising or tracking cookies, tracking pixels or similar techniques that track your behaviour for advertising purposes.

If we start using such techniques in the future, we will only activate them where the law requires consent and after you have given that consent. You can then change or withdraw any consent given at any time.

In short

Koi Auction Europe currently only uses techniques that are necessary for the platform to function and be secure, or that are used without tracking to monitor the technical operation of the website.

You therefore currently do not need to consent to advertising or tracking cookies, and you do not need to set any cookie preferences.

Which cookies and local storage do we use?

Sign-in session

When you sign in, the platform uses functional cookies and/or local storage to keep you signed in and to secure your session.

This information is needed to use features such as your account, bids, won auctions and account settings.

The session expires automatically and is ended when you sign out.

Purpose: signing in, session security and account functionality.
Consent required: no.

Bot protection via Cloudflare Turnstile

When you register, sign in, place a bid or submit forms, among other things, we may use Cloudflare Turnstile.

Turnstile helps us distinguish between normal visitors and automated misuse, such as bots. For this purpose, technical signals from your browser and device may be processed.

Depending on the technical configuration, Cloudflare may use temporary browser storage or security cookies for this. We do not use these for advertising or for building commercial user profiles.

Purpose: securing the platform and preventing automated misuse.
Consent required: no, insofar as this technique is necessary for the security and operation of the service requested.

Cookie information

We may remember locally in your browser that you have viewed or closed our information about cookies.

This means we do not need to show the same notice again on every visit.

This preference is not used for tracking or advertising.

Purpose: remembering that the cookie information has been displayed.
Consent required: no.

Display and functional preferences

Certain settings may be stored locally in your browser. Think, for example, of functional or display preferences within the platform.

This data is only used to remember the setting you have chosen.

Purpose: ease of use and functionality.
Consent required: no.

Language preference

Koi Auction Europe is available in several languages. If you have an account, we may store your language preference with your account, so that, for example, account and auction messages can be displayed or sent in the right language.

Technical performance monitoring

We use Vercel for hosting and technical performance monitoring.

This allows us, for example, to check whether pages load quickly and whether the platform is functioning properly from a technical point of view.

Under our current technical set-up, we do not use advertising tracking or tracking cookies for this, and this data is not used to build personal advertising profiles of visitors.

Advertising and tracking techniques

Koi Auction Europe currently does not use advertising or tracking cookies, tracking pixels or similar techniques for personalised advertising or remarketing.

We may start using such techniques in the future, for example to:

• measure which advertisements lead to a visit or purchase;
• assess the performance of our advertisements;
• compile target audiences for our advertisements;
• show relevant advertisements via external advertising platforms;
• reach previous visitors again through remarketing.

If we start using such techniques and consent is required for them:

• we will inform you in advance about the techniques and parties involved;
• we will explain what information is collected and for what purpose;
• these techniques will only be activated after you have given your consent;
• you will be able to accept or refuse non-necessary categories;
• these techniques will be switched off by default until you have made a choice;
• you will always be able to change or withdraw any consent previously given.

Without your consent, such non-necessary advertising and tracking techniques remain disabled.

Once we actually start using these techniques, we will also update this cookie policy and, where necessary, our Privacy Policy.

Why are we not currently asking for consent?

No prior consent is required for functional cookies and similar techniques that are necessary to provide a service you have requested.

This applies, for example, to techniques needed to:

• sign in securely;
• keep your session active;
• make account features work;
• secure bids and forms;
• combat fraud, bots and automated misuse;
• remember necessary functional preferences.

Certain analytical techniques may also be used without prior consent if they have no or only minor consequences for privacy.

Because Koi Auction Europe currently does not use any advertising, tracking or other non-necessary techniques that require consent, we do not currently display an extensive cookie banner in which you have to accept or refuse different cookie categories.

Tracking cookies and privacy-sensitive similar techniques may not be placed without prior consent. Visitors must be able to make their own choice, and non-necessary options may not be pre-selected.

Third-party services

For certain parts of Koi Auction Europe, we use external service providers.

Cloudflare

We use Cloudflare for parts of our technical infrastructure, including delivering images and videos securely and quickly and protecting forms against bots and automated misuse.

For this purpose, Cloudflare may process technical information that is necessary to provide and secure these services.

Vercel

We use Vercel for the hosting and technical operation of the platform and for technical performance monitoring.

Within our current set-up, these technical measurements are not used for advertising tracking.

Supabase

We use Supabase for, among other things, accounts, authentication and our database.

In doing so, functional cookies or similar techniques may be used that are necessary, for example, to make your sign-in session work securely.

Mollie

When you make a payment, we use Mollie.

Within Mollie's payment environment, cookies or similar techniques may be used to which Mollie's own privacy and cookie policy applies.

We do not independently determine which necessary techniques Mollie uses within its own payment environment.

Deleting cookies and local storage

You can delete cookies and local storage at any time via your browser settings.

Please note that certain features may then need to be set up again or may temporarily stop working. For example, if you delete your sign-in session data, you may need to sign in again.

Because we currently do not use any non-necessary cookies that require consent, there are currently no separate advertising or tracking categories that you need to switch on or off within Koi Auction Europe.

Cookie information

If we start using tracking in the future

If in the future we add, for example, advertising tracking, remarketing or other non-necessary techniques that require consent, we will ensure that they are not loaded before you have given your consent.

We will then also add cookie settings that allow you to choose separately, for example, for:

• necessary cookies;
• analytical cookies that require consent;
• advertising and marketing cookies.

Necessary cookies always remain active, because the platform cannot function properly or securely without these techniques.

You can always change or withdraw any earlier consent to non-necessary cookies.

We may amend this cookie policy when the operation of the platform, the technical services used or our use of cookies and similar techniques changes.

If we start using new techniques that require consent, we will, where necessary, first ask for that consent before these techniques are activated.
